SC PLANNING 2022 REPORT

Intent Group Report, 2021-2022

PURPOSE

Through interviews with senior SC leaders and planning heads, Intent is looking to create a narrative report giving insights into some of the best planning tools; which strengths are worthy of mention, how they are being used to best effect. We'll spotlight some of the motivation to change, and suggest what to consider when beginning the process of seeking a new solution.

SCOPE

  • S&OP/IBP

  • Inventory visibility

  • Collaborative planning (e2e, pan-org sharing of SC data)

NO INTENTION TO CHANGE PLANNING TOOL?

  • Keep on top of trends and thinking

  • Find out what others are doing post SAP APO

  • Find out what capabilities others are seeking

  • Ensure you are aware of options to be more agile

  • Future proof next generational capabilities (IBP/AI)

LOOKING TO CHANGE PLANNING TOOL?

  • Find out which aspects are rated highly by other users

  • Make shortlisting easier - read a summary of opinions.

OUTPUT

The report will be free to download in Q1 of 2022 to all those who participated and to Intent Group members. Any report Partners will also be permitted to distribute the report.

An independently researched narrative report that highlights some of the best liked solutions - why they are liked. Insights into selection criteria, and demands upon next generation tools. We will also be looking to include advice on selecting and/or successful implementation.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT TO GARTNER MQ?

This is not an attempt to map the whole market and put all companies on one chart, rather to share some first hand feedback and provide useful advice to those who are looking, or know they will be looking to change tools.
